Children's of Alabama Indy Grand Prix

Sunday afternoon we attended the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park. This annual event attracts tourists from throughout the US to the Birmingham area and allows guests to experience thrilling races in an adrenaline-fueled atmosphere. Congratulations to Scott McLaughlin on the win!

We had an opportunity to learn about renewable fuels and the life span of racing tires. Shell’s new 100% renewable fuel consists of a blend of second-generation ethanol derived from sugarcane waste and other biofuels that would otherwise be tossed into landfills. In 2023, Indy announced that the The Indy 500-specific race tire would incorporate a synthetic rubber created with ISCC+ certified recycled butadiene, a monomer produced with recycled post-consumer plastic waste, such as used plastic shopping bags, film, stretch wrap, and other flexible polymer packaging. #Our67
